M. Timothy Murray

I found this story quite enjoyable. I particularly liked the character development. I felt like I would recognize the main characters if they walked into the room. It is refreshing to read a story in which the main characters make decisions based on what is good for the world (or worlds) rather than themselves.

I found Tim Murray’s book “Thumar” a delightful read and I couldn’t put it down. When I finished the last page, I wanted more…can’t wait for Tim to come out with his next book.

This book is bold and magical indeed.

I found this a very enjoyable and easy book to read. M. Timothy Murray describes people and places in a way that brings them to life in the imagination. I could travel to Thumar and from his descriptions of the life there, fit right in. The festivals and the clothing worn at them were amazing and I was thrilled to be invited to participate in them.

M. Timothy Murray offers an exciting ride in Time Paradox, the second book in the Thumar Saga, with fully drawn characters and a stunningly imagined plot. Derak and Shesain, together with their fearless time-traveling crew, find themselves six hundred years in the past. Thumar’s past is reeling with challenges, including a worldwide plague. They are supposed to find a cure for the pandemic that is destroying lives, but little do they know that their actions will drastically alter their own timeline in the distant future. Returning home to the present, they have a more crucial problem to face — fixing their timeline. But even with the help of the mysterious time sentinels and their travels through other dimensions, will they be able to fix their timeline?

I picked up the trilogy at Prelude to War, Thumar Saga 3 and was immediately hooked, and what a great ride. I liked and cared for the characters, who were well drawn, and the talking, intelligent species are believable. The book is packed with action, surprise twists and an understanding of a real world and how it works, which shows years of wisdom on Murray’s part! I found a lot of contemporary parallels in Prelude to War with our modern political reality, so it was very topical; and I enjoyed the battle for Thumar’s heart and soul. I highly recommend this series.
